Vision Statement  

 

It is very complicated today for people to maintain dynamic and interesting websites of their own. The Searchlets will be a web based application that helps users in this context using a concept called Generic Blogging.

 

The concept allows a personal website owner to specify which types of things on the web will be interesting to their website visitors, and then provides a mechanism to allow that person to have such dynamic content found and published to their own website on a regular basis, with optional email notification of new items that have been found and published. The program will perform a productive search using the Google API, filter the results to suit the user requirements and publish the results to the web space provided by the user. The application further provides additional functionalities of saving the user' search attributes for future usage, and means to specify the search run time in terms of daily, weekly or monthly. Finally, the application will be available in a downloadable version allowing the users to run it on their own servers.
